After feeling trapped in their home country of Holland, Claudia and Rachid decided it was time to realise Claudia’s childhood dream of moving to Australia. A migration agent advised them they would not be granted an Australian working visa. They didn’t have much money in the bank. If they couldn’t work they wouldn’t last long. But they decided to try their luck. They packed five bags, their young family and headed to Australia on a tourist visa.

Adelaide Fringe (13 February - 15 March 2015)
Adelaide Fringe began in 1960 as an alternative to the Adelaide Festival of the Arts which offered only limited opportunity for local artists.
Adelaide Fringe is an annual open-access arts festival run over four weeks in Adelaide. Thousands of artists from around Australia and across the globe participate alongside home-grown talent. Art forms spanning cabaret, comedy, circus & physical theatre, dance, film, theatre, music, visual art and design comprise the program for the festival.

Adelaide Festival ( 27 February - 15 March 2015)
The Adelaide Festival is considered to be one of the world's major celebrations of the arts, and a preeminent cultural event in Australia. Feature events include opera, theatre, dance , classical and contemporary music, cabaret, literature, visual art and new media.
Adelaide Festival of Arts runs for 17 days and nights from Friday, 27 February to Sunday, 15 March 2015. 2015 marks the 30th Adelaide Festival of Arts.
The 2015 Festival is David Sefton’s third as Artistic Director and the third annual festival. David’s tenure was extended to include the 2016 Festival, making him the first person to direct four consecutive Adelaide Festivals.
Adelaide Festival of Arts 2015 will feature:
- Over 150 performances across 42 events (including 11 theatre, one dance and 23 music events alongside the massive digital art and sound installation Blinc and exhibitions by Bill Viola and Trent Parke)
- 22 Australian premieres – 20 from the performance program (eight theatre, 10 music and two dance) and two from the visual arts program
- 26 Adelaide exclusive events – (14 music, seven theatre, two dance and three visual arts events)
- One Festival-commissioned world premiere – Tommy by Eric Mingus and Hal Willner.
- Seven commissioned shows – Fela! The Concert, Tommy and Blinc, including four co-commissioned with other festivals – The Experiment, Nufonia Must Fall, Black Diggers and Jack and the Beanstalk.
- Around 775 artists and writers will travel to Adelaide from countries including: Austria, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Norway, New Zealand, Poland, Scotland, United Kingdom and United States of America.
