English pathway options

QUT International College (QUTIC), a part of QUT, offers English language and academic pathway programs for international students who don’t meet our direct entry requirements. QUTIC students have access to university facilities and enjoy a high level of student support. East West Program

East West is a program promoting cultural diversity and intercultural communication between QUT students. With East West, you can meet new people and get involved in campus activities. Security

QUT and Brisbane are very safe environments. Security guards monitor both campuses 24/7, can escort you between buildings, and can come to your assistance at a phone call’s notice. Our free intercampus bus runs on a regular schedule between both campuses, and there are emergency call points and closed circuit television (CCTV) for your safety. Brisbane has a low crime rate and is a safe city by world standards.

Convenient campuses

QUT has Brisbane’s only two full service inner-city university campuses, located at Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove. Our campuses feature their own state-of-the-art facilities and precincts, where social and creative hubs meet world class research and education facilities.

Gardens Point campus

Gardens Point campus occupies a prime location in Brisbane’s city centre, nestled beside the Brisbane River, City Botanic Gardens and Parliament House—a position that reinforces QUT’s links with business, industry and government.

The Gardens Point campus contains the Gardens Cultural Precinct, QUT Art Museum, the William Robinson Gallery in historic Old Government House, and the Science and Engineering Centre, which brings together teaching and research in science, technology, engineering and mathematics disciplines. It also includes stimulating learning and research spaces, food and retail outlets, a fitness centre, and 50-metre swimming pool. 

Kelvin Grove campus

Kelvin Grove campus is situated two kilometres from the city centre.  The campus offers a fitness club and aquatic centre with gymnasium, 25-metre pool and indoor sports stadium, as well as tennis courts and sports fields, which are located on campus or in the village precinct.

QUT is located in Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, and has a population of approximately 2.12 million people with 25 per cent of Brisbane residents born overseas. Brisbane is renowned for its relaxed, outdoor lifestyle and offers a wide range of activities including sports, arts and entertainment, shopping, dining, and great nightlife. 

With an average of 261 days of sunshine every year, Brisbane offers a subtropical climate with warm summers and mild winters. Temperatures average from a high of 30 degrees Celsius in the middle of summer to a low of 10 degrees Celsius in winter. Queensland is a state of many contrasts –from tropical coasts and green rainforests to desert and sand country. It is home to many tourist destinations including the Great Barrier Reef, Cairns, the Gold Coast, the Whitsundays and the Sunshine Coast.
